but there are a lot of exam tables that have the stirrups pointing towards the
door. This was obviously a mean joke perpetrated by whoever designed the room.

have to sit through a lecture entitled "Empathy is Necessary in Medicine.
If You Don't Have It, Learn To Fake It."
That must be
frustrating for you to have to sit through. Please tell me more about it.
